Hey guys, while riding today I caught sight of the new WRX with test plates on. Saw the badge behind, but it had single exhaust pipe. Rear lights were also slightly differently shaped. Went ahead of it and checked my mirrors to see the brand new headlight design!

Gave the guys thumbs up and he floored it past me. But...sadly, it didn't have the aural characteristics of the old one
. No deep and bassy boxer rumble. Later
on, managed to stop beside him at a traffic light and had a brief
chat. He didn't seem too impressed with it though, and while
revving it, it sounded very much like a normal inline 4 engine.
Then he mentioned something about faders being changed to different
lengths, which made the sound this different..

Any clue what that might have meant? It still looked pretty torquey when he accelerated off later though..

Hmm... Now that I think about it, he might have said "headers" and not "faders" lol... Haha it makes more sense now, headers being of a certain length, attributing to the rubbish noise it makes now. You could put an Altis beside it and not know the difference.
boiboi: By the way, he said it was a 2.5 he was driving, unless Garage R (Hougang outlet) informed you otherwise. Thinking of getting one? Good, keep thinking.

Let him create stress in his turbo chamber wall then we'll see.

the current wrx sti can take a 1.6 bar boost. yes, the current boxer engine.
however, they are implications to it. so a 2.0 bar boost aein't a far cry from a 1.6
it can be done.

the torque is immense, about 442Nm @ 6500rpm i think. so dont play play. the stock 350z is only 363nm.
no rumble ? whck in a 2.0 bar boost, then tell me the result after tat.still no "boxer" rumble with 2.0 bar boost. The rumble comes from an uneven extractor length. U know wad u talking about or not?

u really don't know what u are talking about. do u know what 1 bar is even? 2 bar boost and 1.6 is quite a big difference. U take the old WRX engine and rework it, it can take 2 bar boost as well, dun need the new WRX engine. But whatever engine u choose, u'll need to rework it pretty extensively to endure a boost of 2 bars. U want 3 bar boost, u got enuf money, also can be done. What u've said in your post is as good as telling us nothing.
U dunno your stuff dun come here n embaress yourself.

he doesn't know anything. he's just throwing out random numbers and terms to try n show us he "knows" something.
