Heehee.....focus Rs rocks eh? If only i could transplant their engines into mine. an ST170 would do for me too.Originally posted by HENG@:oh I also drove the Focus RS and the 2006 WRX STi as well. the STi wheelspins in the wet when shifting 3rd gear into 4th gear!
And the Ferrari 550. We were asked to drive it in 5th gear only once we got onto the circuit. That meant it was driving along in 5th gear from speeds of 50km/h all the way to 208 km/h. Amazing!
But I had the most fun in the Focus RS. I was actually harressing a poor sod driving a 550 in front of me with a RS! Driving right up his rear and being very aggressive under braking.
As u can see tho, it was a bleak n foggy day, and the track was very greasy. It actually SNOWED!![]()
oo sounds lovely, sounds sunny there. the last time i drove that long, was about 3 weeks ago driving from london to bath stopping at windsor and stonehenge on the way. it was cold and dark and icy and it gets a bit scary driving on the british B roads at 60 mph in that sort of conditions.Originally posted by coffeeortea:nice, i spent saturday driving 7 hours straight from florida
hey hey the new Focus ST is basically the previous gen RS. well fast they are.Originally posted by nullifi3d:Heehee.....focus Rs rocks eh? If only i could transplant their engines into mine. an ST170 would do for me too.
hmm... ok as u can see(or maybe not) from the pics, it was a very wet and cold and foggy day. the new STi had plenty of grip despite the conditions, and was able to accelerate hard, although I did get wheelspin shifting up from 3rd into 4th while blasting out of the last corner onto the main straight. Nothing the car's systems couldn't control though. I saw something light up on the instrument panel almost instantly and the wheelspin was gone. In 4th, charging into the 1st corner which is a 90 degree right hander, all i needed was to stand on the brakes hard and it scrubbed off speed nicely, turn in, get on the throttle, and then nail it. Excellent car. It did shimmy a bit when it hit standing water, but nothing the car's AWD couldn't handle. I'd say, in fact, in these conditions, the STi was the faster car than the Ferrari.Originally posted by siaokao:Hey.. can tell us how the new WRX is like?![]()
