this sunday, to dedicate our support and applaud the children for their determination and courage to fight cancers, the Marchies will support in the event termed the Tulip Hearts Day.
the objective of the drive thru is to reach out to the local driving community and raise awareness for childhood cancer as well as raise funds for children's cancer foundation (CCF).

Who is Children's Cancer Foundation (CCF)?* CCF was formed in 1992 by a group of volunteers to address the needs of children with cancer and their families.
* Since then more than 1,200 children and their families have benefited from their programmes and services.
Mission of CCF* To improve the quality of life of children with cancer and their families through enhancing their emotional, social and medical well being.
CCF Family Support Centres* CCF Family Support Centres located at KK Women's and Children's Hospital and National University Hospital are one stop centres aimed at helping children with cancer and their families.
What is Tulip Hearts Day (THD)?* THD is an annual event by Children's Cancer Foundation (CCF).
* THD pays tribute to the courage of children battling with cancer.
* THD increases the awareness of childhood cancer to the public.
* THD helps to raise funds through the sale of tulip flowers and pins.
Why Tulip Hearts Day?* To applaud the courage and determination of children with cancer.
* Tulip signifies Hope and Celebration and Hearts represent the love and generosity of all who care.
* Together we communicate this hope and love to the children with cancer and their families.
Tulip Flowers* Sale of 80,000 handmade silk-cocoon tulips by volunteers on 3 Sept 2005, Sunday island wide.
* Each tulip costs $2 and comes in 14 colours.
* Mobilization of 700 over volunteers.
* Each volunteer will be wearing a specially designed THD t-shirt.
* Each stalk of silk cocoon tulip will have one of the following educational messages: "Most childhood cancers are curable", "Children with cancer lead normal childhoods", "Cancer is not contagious" and "No known cause for most childhood cancers".
* All supporting collaterals such as money bags, posters, brochures will feature Main Sponsor: Asia Pacific Breweries Foundation, Sponsor: Singapore Totalisator Board, Partner: SembCorp Utilities.
Where does the fund goes?It goes into Children's Cancer Foundation general fund and provides free programmes and services to more than 450 children and their families each year. The programmes and services are:

* Childhood Cancer Marrow Transplant Programme
* Back-to-school Programme
* Supervised Play

Quick Facts about Childhood CancerFact: 120 new cases of children diagnosed with childhood cancers every year in Singapore.
Fact: Half of the children diagnosed with childhood cancers are below 6 years of age.
Fact: Though the causes of childhood cancer remain unknown, cancer is curable.
Fact: Leukaemia which is the most common form of childhood cancer have a 70-80% rate of recovery.
Hence what they need is to be shown the hope and determination to fight the illness. Coping with childhood cancer requires a tremendous amount of courage and patience from both child and his/her family.
