  It's for your own good lor, new drivers tend to be slower and more unpredictable.. other drivers give you more allowance for mistakes if they see your P-plate. Otherwise if see you take 5min to park your car sure horn you like siao.

  its not tat p plates are shameful..
  
  family dun drive so sometimes use fren or relative car tat has no p plate.. den suddenly just pass to u, u think u wanna ask tat fella drive to e patrol kiosk to buy p plate den take over the wheel? no.. just whack fr start to end without p plate loh..

  I think the punishment for the first offence (of failing to put up the P-plate) is a fine, repeat offenders will have their driving licences revoked.

  I got my driving license abroad for quite some time cos studying abroad...so was already driving since NS but no time to go for pratical in SG only...came back convert at Ubi TP...then the lady give me the slip tell me must put P plate

  i also give way to p-plate drivers on the road.. because.. when i first took the car onto the roads by myself... honestly speaking.. i felt quite scared..
  
  the usual 50km/h driving was alright.. but on the expressways.. 100km/h+ was different.. i also take the left most lane because i was terrified to change lane myself as poor judgement of speed at 100km/h...
  
  i know p-platers will and come across difficulties as new drivers.. so i tend to give them time and allowance when i see them on the road..
  
  another thing... drivers do not want to stick the plate on the windscreenb ecause it causes damages.. the sticky thing is hard to tear down..
  
  my family had experiences with my bro and sis.. each time, we tried to take down the plates, it will leave a mark on the windscreen which is quite an eyesore..

  i last time used the suction hook for my p plate den everytime drop during the journey... haha but i hack care loh just drive without it liao.
  
  P plate sometimes kana bully lah but sometimes ppl tend to give way also... hahaha
  
  P plate go rite most lane on expressway also can ....

  Honestly, I find the P-plate material used dumb. Yes, it is of pretty high quality with 3M's super-sticky-ever-famous-adhesive, however not quite practical. At $10+, you cannot even afford to shift the P -plate around cars due to the super sticky adhesive.
  
  I do not understand why the P-plate cannot be like a decal instead? Just like Malaysia(P) and also Europe(A). It will be so much 'portable' and affordable, and I believe it will bring down the numbers for new drivers not displaying the P-plate due to whatever reasons.
  
  Say you have got 3 cars at home and you do not know which car you will get to drive everyday as your dad loves driving different cars everyday, so just buy 3 P-plate decals and stick on all 3 cars la! haha
