Torque is how hard you can turn something from a fixed distance lah. Distance x force (Nm).
HP is, well, power. watts, kilowatts, work done per unit time (can give how much "strength" in a given time).
The engine's capacity ("cc" ) is not the only factor affecting car performance. There's still a whole host of things to consider - drive system, how the engine is tuned, CD, weight, etc......and most of all, the driver. "Faster" is also an ambiguous term.....do you mean top speed or acceleration? Anyway, the best and only way to see if a car is fast (either speed or acceleration) is to check the manufacturer's specifications.
A Daihatsu turbo (small thing) can take off faster than a Merc 230. But it doesn't mean that a Daihatsu turbo can outrun the Merc 230 when on the highway from here to KL (because the Merc would be much more stable at high speeds on the highway).
Turbo timer is an electronic timer (like the countdown timer people use in sports) which is attached to the ignition part of the engine. When the key is pulled out after driving, the engine keeps running till the timer reaches 0. How long will it count down depends on your setting (manually set, or auto set, etc). Turbo charged engines need to cool down because they run very hot - so that the cooked oil will not destroy the turbo's bearings, which is the most important and fragile part. So the turbo timer helps by providing a controlled type of cooling down.....instead of sudden engine switch-off. The other way, of course, is to sit in the car for a few minutes after a high speed run.
A turbo charged car is a car with a turbo charger. Nothing else.
To install a turbo is not always possible. It depends on what car, what turbo, etc. Needs LTA approval too, otherwise its illegal. Prices vary alot. I can get good almost new turbos at S$300, or brand new ones for thousands of $.
