Yeap... the new getz 1.4 A is not a bad one.. I should say value for $$.
The new version comes with DOHC while the 1.1M still using SOHC
I got Half leather seat, default sun visor, fog light, sports rim, door visor, reverse sensor all at $40999.
But now COE went up so the price of car is also up.
It is a spacious car although its looks small from the outside when compared to 1.1 cars and a bit less space when compared to 1.6 car. Its interior has simple and easy to read dashboard, no complication.
The pick-up is a bit slow especially with 5 ppl in the car, but if you pump 98 petrol will solve the problem.
The chasis is strong and if it rains its not so noisy as compared to japanese car. After a long ride from Singapore to KL and back to Singapore, the chasis doesn't have any dent marks as the car pick-up small sand and stone while travelling. Only a small scratch at the top of my roof, about 1 cm line.
One think i dun like about the getz is that the key is not so stylish although the key pouch is and the autolock function will work only if you close all the doors and start the engine. Otherwise you have to autolock all the time.
The radio antenna keeps hitting the roof if you are going into a 1.8m car park but can be solved by folding down the antenna which i didnt notice in the first place.
When you drive at 100km/h and up, you have to turn on your radio loud a bit coz its noisy on the road
Overall its a very easy to handle car. U-turn, cornering and staying in lane is simple. Very value for $$. In my opinion if you drive alone and ferry ppl here and there occassionally, its worth to get it.
There is a overdrive button is always in on-position. Off it and its like a 1.1 car so leave it on then.
Fuel consumption i am getting is about 10km/litre.
Servicing is cheap also. Only $120 plus for first servicing.
Some servicing is expensive..
