Been missing in action for a few days. Sigh.
My FD 1.6 got hit by an (anonymous) car in a shopping centre carpark. Just got it back from repair. :/
Anyway, regarding the HID lamps, according to LTA, it is illegal to install HID lamps when your car's not factory-fitted with HID lamps.

However, I'm not sure if this rule applies to the FD 1.6, since the 1.8 and 2.0 variants were factory-fitted with HID! Can the people-in-the-know (i.e. LTA-insiders or lawyers) advise us on this?

So you can skirt around it by installing official HID by Honda.
Kah Motor stopped it i guess no body really wants to spend $2000 to convert when ppl can buy HID bulbs and replace them when going back to Vicom.
But it is quite tough finding HID for FD since it uses HB3 (9006) bulbs.
Not to mention expensive too since you need to buy 2 sets of bulbs for high/low beam. -

Haha. With regards to fuel consumption, my 1.6 managed 14km/L again, for the latest refuel. But I do about 80% Highway 20% City-driving.
I guess many assume a smaller engine displacement translates to less petrol consumption, and probably logically so. -

You can have a 0.8liter engine on the civic but you will notice you need to red-line frequently...
consumption will be higher, your parts wear out faster. -
