Red Light Camera. Help!

Hey guys..i'm relatively new here...but just seek some advice frm the more experienced people here...
I was driving down Benjamin Shears bridge and down into downtown bugis..approaching bugis, there's this steep slope to go up and at the other side of the slope is a traffic light junction..i was going abt 50km/h and when i was nearly at the traffic light, it became amber and I didn't e-brake as there were cars behind me..so proceeded onwards..however I'm not sure if the camera actually captured me as after crossing the light about 20 metres, I saw a flash from my rear mirror..
Any 2 cents worth?
I'm a P-plate driver furthermore..damn

Just pray hard that the letter doesnt come... If it does come, then get your family memers who have driving license to take the rap for you...

so 'helpful' just because behind got cars you don't e brake and cause yourself to be in this kind of situation.

hmm..the car belongs to my mum...n she's usually the one driving it...n it happened on thursday...so far i went to the eddies page but no record still...still keeping my fingers crossed man...
if i e-braked..the cab behind wld have slammed into me...
u think i can write in an appeal based on such a situation? -
Go to the MP of your area...I'm serious. My friend has done it before.
If not, be like me, write an appeal letter and wait for a $20 discount

if you e braked and the cab behind slams your butt, it'll be the taxi's fault for not keeping a safe distance. simple as that.

I'm sure your MP has an office right? Check that out with the town council or whoever. But first, wait for the letter to arrive (normally 2 wks to a month). Don't bother about what other's say.......should have stopped and let the driver behind you take the blame blah blah blah.
I understand the stress under such circumstances (to brake or not to brake when light turns amber). It's mostly unfriendly scenes after accidents.
Perhaps what you can do in future is, watch out for red light camera areas, check pedestrian traffic from far, once you are near the stop lines, accelerate fast. Then you won't face the problem of having to beat the red light. -
hmm...2 weeks to 1 mth? it happened on thursday...and i called them up that very same day n the person over the phone told me to check again on tues...i'm fretting over this badly man..
and yea...it's rrly difficult to decide in such a situation..furthermore i'm already just before the light..
if i were to write a letter to the MP, do i still have to write in an appeal letter or the MP would handle the situation for me? -
Alright, then call whoever you have to call on tues.
I suggest that you relax and don't fret over it too much. I have also been thru such situations whereby, "Got flash or not?"
Since you are sure you saw a flash, just be mentally prepared to pay a fine of $120-$200 (i'm not sure) and 6 demerit points. It's nothing really, just take it as a lesson such that you will be more careful in future.
Take it easy yeh, a bit of hole in the pocket, that's all. It's nothing too much. -
i'm trying to keep myself composed and drive rrly carefully on the roads now..esp traffic lights..the devil of the road! haha..
hmm...6 demerit points? read about people saying it would be a 12 demerit point thing? -
Forgot to add, do see the MP or his assistant face to face.

you notice any flashes? how many did you see? one flash could mean you are still safe. 2 flashes mean confirm photo have been taken but hope that it is not a real camera inside or they run out of film. if really kanna, ask family for help loh...
Anyway if someone knocks ur bumper, they are in the wrong most of the time. The case usually is in your favour. -
12 demerit points? I think only 6. Not as if you committed anything serious like drunk driving.

anyway, if your rear wheel has already passed the last white line, chances are that the flash was not for you
to confirm, wait 2 weeks.. meanwhile, remember to drive safely becoz you wanna be safe, not becoz you just wanna hold on to your license -

If it's 12 points and you're left with zero, then so be it. You can still drive. I had 12 points deducted as a p-plate biker many years back, only had 0 points left but still carried on as per normal. After one year, it jumped to 24!!

If you kena the 12pts your license will be revoked and you will have to take the test again.
The p-plate dun mean you driving ma. Just say at that time your mom driving la. Who say must take down P-plate when someone else drive? -
unless the system has been changed (again), P-plate is 13 points...
