Yeah,... but Shell is generally more expensive than Caltex, isn't it?Originally posted by 105090:all the petrol stations has same pump price and minimum 5% discount. only diff is Shell V Power and Caltex Platinum (most ex in the market).
SPC is the cheapest i think.
at least, it dont have loyalty points and gives you a cash discount (at least 7%).
if factor in loyalty points, the calculations is very complicated.
Why do u wanna switch away from Mobil?Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:I am thinking of switching from Mobil to Shell... what do you guys think of that?
General feel is that SPC gives less power and mileage.Originally posted by djugashvili:hmm maybe it's time I should switch to SPC...Shell uses those perks to attract people...
btw, are those 3M fuel additive really useful?
juz curious if u hog the road by doing so?!Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:Let me teach you guys a way to save petrol... wah laoz the amount of petrol you save is crazy if you drive 30-40 km (from Changi to Tuas a day!)
What I do is this, when traveling at the highway, I will try to be in neutral gear as much as possible.
I accelerate and then "free gear" (go into neutral) and let the car just cruise on its own momentum. You will be surprised. When you go into neutral, the car accelerate further before slowing down.
If you are driving auto trans... count to three when you put back to D (drive) before you step on the accelerator pedal (3 secs for gears to engage).
Of course you will take more time to reach your destination... but if there is a jam, the time difference is the same and you save petrol...
oh... practice first and get used to it before you do that for real...
