    • I dun have any website to recommend but i do HEARD from my fren's fren who is a racer about drifting...

OK first and foremost, there is only one kind of car that is suitable for drifting, namely 2 wheel drive kind of car (rear) -- meaning only the two rear wheels are spinning when accelerator is activated. 2 wheel drive kind of car (front) is also ok but will not give optimum drift. 4 wheel drive kind of car -- forget about drifting.

Steps to take when drifting (I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE STEPS, ONLY AGAGA ONLY, IF SERIOUSLY WANT TO LEARN GO CONSULT A PROFESSIONAL)

      Manual Car:

      1) U are at gear 4 - 5 (relatively high speed 70-80km/h)

      2) Encounter a turn, I think need to pull parking brake first

      3) Shift gear from 4 to 3 (i.e. one gear down) --> drifting should occur

      4) When finish the drift, up-gear back to 4

      5) release parking brake

P.S: If kena accident is ur problem, i am not liable for any of ur damage and injuries. Mr. Green BEST go and consult a professional like i said

    • I used to drift in my S14.

All i know is.. do not drift on a rainy day even if it appears like a very easy n manageble corner... because when u over power , ur turbo kicks in..game over.

Any area u want to drift make sure u have a few run bys see if got holes , gravel , bumps , cause it will affect the ability of your car to corner or drift. Once ur wheels bounce off the ground , u have no traction. No traction = crash

Learn using non-hand brakes first. After u get the 'feel' of your car and how it will respond , because it may save you when u lose control of your car. U know how much to bring it back , cant over steer and stuff.

Normally just before the corner you should shift down your gear , and at high RPM start to corner already n accelerate while cornering. But yeah , i dunno how to really explain technically but practice lo.

    • Trying to treat the question seriously,... Very Happy

Only know of videos,... best ones are from Japan,... there's a series by someone they call the "drift king"...

There are many ways to drift. Using handbrake is only one of them and the drift king said that it is for beginners cause it's easier Wink

    • Drifting are mainly for FR cars ( FR = Front engine Rear wheel drive)

Most SG cars are FF ( Front engine, Front wheel drive)

Most subaru are 4WD ( Front engine, all 4 wheel drive)

How to tell, check where yr engine is.. mostly front..

As for checking whethere front or rear wheel drive.. check yr car manual or simply look beneath yr car to see if there are any linkage from the engine to the rear wheel via a driveshaft.

If u happened to be driving a FF car, drifting is quite impossible, u may only managed a power-slide instead...

And before knowing how to slide, u nid to know how to do a HBT - Hand Brake Turn... and also RF - reverse flip, then after knowing and practicing this 2, then u can advance to power-slide which is consider drifting in FF cars.

Btw, i started as a newbie also... this is after 2 years of learning thru friends, courses and from the internet.

      thx

wad car u want to use? for FWDs we dun call drift, its Power Sliding or u can call it hand brake drift. 1st to learn is to do accurate counter steers. And btw AWD also can drift. Basically to drit means is to lost your control nicely. Smile
