the red and blue lights trail is done as wat mark and garage r said, left the shutter speed open for 10 secs and in 10secs the other car has to steer around the centre car, thus creating tat effect.
the pics were taken from 8 to 10. has a rather red sky because of the long exposure of the shutter.
i dun noe how to effectively use the shutter & aperture priority.

may i ask if long shutter shd go along with low aperture??

the other car is like the ghost, it keeps moving, so u cant capture it at all, only the trails of lights it leaves behind. long shutter = more light captured = brighter effect. low aperture (low f-stop eg. F2.8 ) = bigger lens opening = more light captured = brighter effect. so if u combine long shutter speed and low aperture, chances are yr pic will go very bright or totally overexposed.Originally posted by Cool-gal:where is the other car then??? mmmmmm, shutter on for 10secs..

long shutter speed go with high aperture (f-stop f5.6 or 8 ) need to know what kind of condition and situation u r shooting in b4 i can comment on it -
