I'm a first time driver and basically know nuts about buying cars, was told by the SE at C&C that lancers have to pay slightly higher insurance, is it true and i wonder why is it so?
Yes, it is true that the insurance is around 5% - 10%higher than the rest of the 1.6 jap cars around the price range of 50k.
Mainly due to the price of the spare parts in case of replacement.
Take for eg. front bumper, lancer cost $350...corollas only around $250.
I changed before and was shocked that its more ex than corollas from outside workshop. Parts is from the distributer near Lavender.
Probably mitsubishi wants to mantain its "high price", like Hondas
If really do a comparison of going back to agents to refit, C & C charges are one of the highest compare to BM or TC.
I asked for quote for TS1.6 and its around $50 cheaper than lancer.
