It doesn't resemble anything i've seen, which is good.Originally posted by n0x:and the rear looks like an alfa or the is250....
wonder if this is made in china what the reaction will be from the forumites....

New engine code, new block or hugely referenced from the old one with major changes?Originally posted by tailslide:actually sat in one today. even shifted the gear around for awhileinternally, build quality has improved the most over the ct9a (finally, an updated dash over the old boring one since evo 7) and features even larger leg room (thanks to longer wheelbase). door closes with a more solid feeling now. engine bay looks more compact (read: neat) now even though the SE was telling me the engine is a bit larger. the intercooler pipings run more directly now dat the inlet and exos manifold has switched directions from the old 4G63 (the 4B11 now has the inlet manifold facing the front).
dun really like the exterior though. despite the significantly wider fenders, vents on bonnet and high mount spoiler, appearance still very much like the lancer we have now. but give me 130k to blow on a car, i'd still place my money on the evo x. but advice to all contemplating: get the SST option. both GSR and RS feature the 5 speed manual tranny if u do not specify the SST option (which will set u back another 8k or so). given the heavier kerb weight albeit, a slight improvement of 22 nm over the IX, my guess is the only way the X can outrun the IX (stock to stock) is the faster shifting time of the SST.
I A PI my come around Chirtmas, the first one i saw was From World of Wheel yesterday two unit...but i Only like the 4Wd and the CVT,if i could i install the Honda H20A1 engine and the momo wheel... and a REAL BBS rim...Originally posted by Praetorian111:PI has already began to take order. But my last check with them was that the shipment will only come somewhere around January.
new block, new engine, new chassis, new everything. almost nothing left of the old evo except maybe the drivetrain with the addition of ASC on top of the SAYC on the GSR models.Originally posted by seow:New engine code, new block or hugely referenced from the old one with major changes?![]()
dude, the x is in stock almost everywhere liao (MB motors, GR and WOW). your PI must be one of those with delayed response lah. if you want i can bring you go buy one rite now. remember 2 bring ur cheque book horOriginally posted by Praetorian111:PI has already began to take order. LOL pwned.Originally posted by tailslide:u obviously dun know ur cars.
first up, the evo x doesn't have CVT. CVT is found in auto gearboxes. evo x uses either a 5 speed manual or 6 speed SST transmission.
secondly, there is no such engine as a H20A1. there is the either the K20A or the H22A from honda. and even so, why would anyone be stupid enuff to put a engine with lesser horsepower, meant for 2WD and fix on a AWD car?
thirdly, the evo X already has MOMO steering. u want REAL BBS rims? go get the evo x GSR premium package. those are REAL BBS rims if you dun know by now.![]()

Well, you pwned ExSpirit half half only..you also didn't get all your facts right..Originally posted by tailslide:u obviously dun know ur cars.

another ignorant oneOriginally posted by alleggerita:Well, you pwned ExSpirit half half only..you also didn't get all your facts right..
1) What do you mean CVT is found in auto gearboxes? CVT can be considered an auto 'box, but it ain't FOUND IN an auto gearbox..an Automatic Transmission and a CVT is TOTALLY different..
2) WAH! Got engines specifically for 4WD and engines specifically for 2WD one ah?!?! I DIDN'T KNOW THAT! Please la, no say this engine more suitable for use in 4WD car and not suitable in 2WD car or vice versa la..![]()

let me get this clear... nv did i once shoot down the desing presented in the evo x...Originally posted by Kuali Baba:The 'narrow strip' rear lights have been reinterpreted and integrated harmoniously into the design and the design fulfills its sporty purpose. That's more than can be said of some Chinese cars.
The lights look very different from Alfa's ideas, and even more so from Lexus's, so stop trying to find fault where there is none, other than a lack of complete originality.
It's easy to make accusations. Just as others have accused Chinese car makers of one crime, you've also accused them of another.
I said at the beginning CVT is auto, because like you said, it can "shift gears by itself"..but when I say it's NOT an auto 'box, I mean it's not a torque convertor, and it doesn't have actual gears unlike a torque convertor automatic gearbox..and I was trying to point out that you didn't make ANY sense by saying a CVT can be found in a auto gearbox..WTF do you mean?Originally posted by tailslide:another ignorant one
an auto gearbox is an auto gearbox. u admitted urself "CVT can be considered an auto 'box". u put it in "D", the gearbox figures out the rest for you. trying to argue that a CVT is not an auto gearbox is akin to saying a hybrid car is not a car becoz it runs on alternative fuels.
ur 2nd point just serves to fortify ur ignorance further. have u tried mating a 2WD engine to a 4WD drivetrain? the reverse can be done (a AWD rex can be converted to a RWD version), but there is no way u can mate an engine meant for 2WD to a 4WD. state one example of which 2WD engine can be mated to a 4WD drivetrain and i'll be more than happy to eat my words.
get ur facts rite before coming here to talk big.![]()
Actually by this part, you have actually proved tailslide correct.Originally posted by alleggerita:take the Subaru R1/R2 for example..it comes standard WITHOUT Subaru's famed Symmetrical 4WD system..but IF the customer wants, he/she CAN specify to fit their R1/R2 with Subaru's Symmetrical 4WD system..
So is the engine in the R1/R2 changed just because it needs to accommodate the 4WD system? No right?![]()
