i dun think singaporeans are ready to fork out tt much for a jap brand.... its all about branding...
u might argue tt pple paid more than that for a lexus which is essentially a toyota...
but then again.. lexus marketed itself well so much so that fans of it are ready to accept it as an alternative to bmws and mercs....
perhaps.. if nissan changed the badge and remarket it.. then perhaps... more will hit sg roads..
if not with tt kinda money.. i rather top up and get an rs4 or m3....
I would think only towkays in SG can accept Lexus as an alternative to Continental marques..In Europe, not much people can accept Lexus as an alternative to Audi, Merc or BMW and they like to see Lexus as a more luxurious Toyota..

And this is probably because Lexus lacks the soul of continental cars..yes, it might be mightyly well-equipped and technologically advance, but it's too cold I guess..doesn't connect well with the driver..
I agree with you though on rebranding it and remarketing it..just like the concept NSX by Honda..they have decided to market is as Acura instead when it goes into production next time..by marketing it under the brand Acura, it will seem more upmarket because Acura is Honda's luxury division..
So maybe Nissan should rename their Skyline GT-R to "Infiniti Skyline GT-R"..

Added: RS4 not on sale liao..you top up enough money also cannot buy liao..
