Into my 4th practical lesson..

And I have difficulty moving off from a slope..I'm learning manual..
I dunno how to coordinate so that I can move off from a slight slope..I will stall..
Can someone teach me how to do it without engaging handbrake first?

why cannot engage handbrake first
use bring your rpm to around 2.5, then release handbrake. At the top of the slope, step less on the accelerator, and when going down, just let the engine brake do most of the work -
Aren't you supposed to always engage the handbrake first?? Then find the biting point, let it go slightly above half clutch, increase the revs a bit so it doesn't stall, let go of the handbrake and then accelerate?

Depends on the steepness of the slope, you have to get biting point almost perfectly for it not to stall. Actually, what I did last time when I learning for slope right, I step the accelerator a tad down and release the clutch slightly more, but at the same time, estimating how much to release.
If you are learning from CDC right, last time the thing for slope is that the speedometer (Its the one measuring engine power i think, I still car parts noob) reaches 2 then release clutch. Anywhere between 2 - 3 and your clutch release the car wont stall.
Oh, you are fast learning slope @ 4th practical lesson. So yeah, work hard.

*Oops forgot to add that handbrake is almost a must during your TP so that your car wont roll back. Roll back beyond 1m is consider fail. -

drive more, and u will have a feel of the half clutch, it's the agar agar way after that

All mistaken me liao..haha..I'm not doing slope test yet..so instructor never tell me to engage handbrake..
This was what happened: On the 3rd lesson, the instructor drove me to punggol to learn left turns..and he said 4th lesson then learn right turn, but I started learning right turn during my 3rd lesson cuz instructor say I learn quite fast..
then when my lesson ended, he ask me to drive back to Compass Point myself..and so I drove..and I stopped at a traffic light that has a teeny-weeny bit of slope..then I stalled..my guess is I never step enough on accelerator? -
I took a total of 17 lessons to finish everything...

Number of lessons dont signify anything. I cannot emphasise this enough. It all matters about how comfortable you are with the vehicle and how you can manipulate it safely.
Thats what my father told me anyway. So yeah, just as long as you are comfortable with yourself and the vehicle... then take the test. Number of lessons taken dont prove you are capable or otherwise.
You have to get used to the car and practice quite a bit to ensure both requirements of ability to drive and safety are met. -

first time pass, 10 demerit pts... 2 pts because didn't release hand brake fully when going downslope, which I was careless. 2 pts cuz speed too slow for the road, which was stupid cuz I was following 2 other learners behind since it was already very near the school (going back liao) -
Yeah which was why I was shocked to find out I passed. Depends lah... I passed on my third attempt. By then I got used to checking blind spots and maneuvering around bends and turns. I think mine 8pts more hilarious le. 4 points when I first started the car. Leg shaking super nervous never step accelerator hard enough so failed to accelerate sufficiently 2 times. The TP straight away mark the points man. I was like... OMFG I haven't even move off yet. So straight away the mood was like super sad. But he ask me continue. Then in CDC, because after turning into the circuit, can turn right to do parallel. So after doing parallel(thank god it went smoothly), immediately turn left again to do slope. Then as I was turning left to the slope, which was right beside, I scared strike kerb, so I do a wider turn. Then he mark me. I come down from slope I make a wide turn also, cause I scared touch kerb. Another 4 pts down.Originally posted by eagle:ya

Thankfully, the road I never minus point. Basically, when I went out to the road, the instructor threw back the clipboard 2-3mins into my test(on the road), and said that I'm safe and he will pass me provided I don't screw up. Then I stalled as I was going back to the school, at a junction and I went like WTF! plus, use wrong gear to move off. But he didnt take that into consideration So, guess I was lucky.

The instructor didn't even tell me how to move off from a slight slope..

ask your instructor to guide u is better, all we talk here is theory..no difference from what u see in your advance theory book, the dynamics almost the same.
Your instrutor if good enuf will be able to identify what is wrong and what is necessary for u to do for this action. -
wa you stalled at a junction... very heng he closed one eye... My fren hor, he saw a cyclist very far, but cycling very fast. So he just go past the zebra crossing. Then the examiner failed him, say dangerous driving, and cuz never give way to pedestrian.
Another friend failed in circuit because right in front of him was a first time driver, then the person's car stalled in the middle of the junction. Examiner asked my friend to overtake, my friend nodded head. But he didn't overtake because he thought theory say cannot overtake at the junction. So he got immediate failure for blocking the junction....
