Cost of rims and tyres

  Can anyone advise on the average price of 17inch sports rims and also tyres?

  No point getting cheong one then add on to the car's weight, reduce performance and cause you to spend more on petrol...

  Not true.. Some stock rims are even heavier than cheong rims, so even if u change to cheong ones, performance and FC may increase.
  For genuine ones, be prepared to pay at least 2.5k.

  forged rims will be around 700 to 1k per rim brand new, UHP tyres will be around 200plus per piece for 225/45/17,if u going for wider width for more traction ie 255/40/17, expect to top up.
  
  lightest now at the moment is volks re30,followed by ce28 and te37. i figure u r running 114.3/5lug? i may be selling my current bronze te37 18inch nxt yr, if ur interested,u can pm me. mine is staggered profile,more suitable for rwd.tks

  With Fuel price at $2/Ltr and putting 17"rim will only burn not the rubber but yr pocket faster. But I think to save $$, u can go on 2nd hand rim, some r down sizing to save fc.
