Just curious,
touchwood, say your car tire puncture and you stop at the road shoulders.
you have a nice spare tire.
I do not think majority drivers in sg know how to change a tire or want to change a tire.
what is the say of the you? I just like to know. Thankyou. -
if on expressway emas will come over and move you off the expressway for free iirc.
after that it'll depend whether circumstances allow me to replace the tyre or not... -
The first time I needed to change my tire, one uncle came up to hlep me without me asking .. he was pros ... instructed me all the way ... after finishing, he asked for money ... I gave him $10.00 .. that was 12 years ago ... you may be lucky like me ... then again, I know how to change tire ,,,,

My stock spare tyre is 15" but I upgrade my rims to 17". The question is, can use the 15" spare meh if got puncture??

TS pls read your owner manual, it should have a section on how to change tyres.
If not, learn. Its not that difficult anyway. -

you probably would need to change your tire unless your one of them richer people who owns a BMW which has runflats on them, thicker tires with a cylinder of metal to protect against punctures. ride feels like driving on a hamburger thou...

there's always first time mah.. just change lo.. unless u got sign up for those free unlimited towing..
sometimes repair is not feasible due to the puncture might be a tear in the tires.. if changed to changed to 17" with low profiles, and keep ur tire diameter, u can use back the 15" spare.. if u change the tire diameter den i dunno liao.. -
U can use them to drive you to the tyre shop to change your punctured tyre. basically, if the overall wheel diameter is different, it will cause balancing issue.
if different weight of the wheel even if wheel is same size, will stress on the driving shaft/gear.

diff rim diameter... tyre profile will change mah.... in the end the thread length will be the same..
and diff weight will stress the driving shaft/gear... but who ask u to drive it on a prolonged basis.. juz need to get u to the next tyre shop what... -

Added: And just like what n0x said, who will change to the 15" spare and drive it for long term? Obviously is ASAP go to tyre shop to change a new 17" tyre and put back the 17" rims..the 15" spare only temporary what.. -
