How safe is to drive your car into malaysia?

Hi! Just brought my car not long ago then now i'm waiting to collect my car. Just wondering how safe is to drive your car up into malaysia as i'm new into this kind of stuff. Or u can call me a newbie too haha but serious, from wat i learn from news, newspaper, etc there quite alot whose car have been rob/steal.
Anyway bro out there with your exp pls do give me some advise as in how to look out for your car from been steal or rob, etc. your little advise will do alot of help for me in the future.
Or anyone out there who can share your view are most welcome too..... -

hire 9 bodyguards.
3 sit in the car with you
4 more with their own motorbike to form a perimeter around your car when u travel
and 2 more with their own car to drive in front and behind you in a convoy.
even then, your car might not be safe. -
lock your car while driving. Remember to give money to any cleaners who come over to clean your car when you are parking. Otherwise, they will scratch your car if you dont pay.

1) Lock your doors ... when you in the car.
2) avoid desert place - street smart.
3) do not do car servicing or repair or polish or glooming in JB - as you notice those that get stolen are usually have done that. Their keys got duplicated so easiler to steal.
4) When driving be more aware - take note of cars that seem to following you. If being follow do not stop, try all mean to shake him off , by turn here and there, do not go to destination till you shake him off. I got that experience before, the guy even follow still try to follow even it become clear that i spotted him. I did some turning here and there , in the traffic.
5) steer wheel lock ! Will help a little, as it make it more difficult and time consuming to steal.
6) never leave anything in sight on car. all log in boots . That will reduce the their tempation. -

I just brought a new lancer, is it as long it a new car they will steal ma? Or they just target sellected car only?
Cause my relatives live in malaysia so this coming CNY thinking of driving up to malaysia. But will be further away from JB of cuz. I guess anyone who have been to malaysia knw tt their transport svc is suck till the end man going somewhere is so ma fun w/o car..... -
My family has driven up to KL countless times but have encountered no such problems...perhaps JB then risky. The only problems encountered in driving up are the traffic police

To stay safe:
1. Don't park in some ulu-ulu place. Most retarded thing to do.
2. Don't let everyone know what you're listening to. Keep low. Same goes for neon lights and exhaust.
3. Install a good alarm system.
4. (APPLIES IN SG TOO) DO NOT leave valuables in your car (duh).
5. (Random thought) Don't count money in the car while parked. Some moron might see you and who knows...

any car u can drive. but rmb to install a window protection films before u go into malaysia. so tat when u lock ur door. those robber watsoever try to assault u, they have to break the glass for quite sometimes. therefore with tat time i think u can flee as far as u could .

Drive a car of make uncommon in Malaysia - they like Hondas, Toyotas, mercs and such.
If you get something like Renault or Peugeot or Opel or Fiat nobody even wants to steal cos they cannot hide and no dealer wants to buy from them.
For sure no one will steal a ferrari or lambo - though they might kidnap the owners!

The trend that I notice is that they hardly have Mazdas... Honda and Toyota are popular targets, especially Rav4 and CRV. -

There was once where a Malaysian registered vehicle was in the first lane zooming past me. My was driving about 105 then and in the end, the TP stops my car instead. I asked them y was my car stopped instead of the other one. The TP just said it his colleagues caught me and not the other car on speed camera earlier and since there is no speed camera here, he will not know the speed of the other car... WHAT A BUMMER!!!
