Yeah..manual more fun..especially when you stall at traffic lights and block people behind you, even more fun!Originally posted by MidnightK:i can drive both..
but now driving auto..
easy.. just step and go..
but manual more fun
HAHA!! i only stalled on my first lesson..Originally posted by alleggerita:Yeah..manual more fun..especially when you stall at traffic lights and block people behind you, even more fun!
That's what happened during my driving lessons when my biting point still not good enough..![]()
Aiyah, give an auto car's throttle a sudden stab and it'll also downshift for you..Originally posted by MidnightK:HAHA!! i only stalled on my first lesson..
then outside never!!
driving manual cars more alert..
must shift gear all these..
auto will doze off..
and besides, manual car overtaking got more power as can down shift..![]()
agreed..Originally posted by alleggerita:Aiyah, give an auto car's throttle a sudden stab and it'll also downshift for you..
But throttle response for manual cars is much much much better..I tried my dad's Kia Picanto..the rev needle rise damn fast..immediate response! But my uncle's S40 2.4i, I also tried stepping on the accelerator before, and I swear there's a one second lag before revs rise..![]()

The Geartronic gearbox in the S40 doesn't have "sport" and "comfort" mode..there's "winter" mode though..and it slows the throttle response down to the pace of a tortoise..Originally posted by Vigelic:agreed..
but then there's a reason for the delay in the auto car..
like some auto cars have a "sport" mode or a "manual shift" mode..
if u buy a car that's designed for comfort and luxury, the shifts will be very early and any response will be very "gentle"
pressing the sport mode will make the throttle response immediate and shift ups at higher revs to improve acceleration..
You think by shifting gears fast means will travel faster?Originally posted by T.Ryousuke:Nowadays steptronic r very common, playing with gear r when u like to speed and beat others on green light, other than that pickup/ overtake is faster than auto, end of the day is yr skill that count which is how fast u change gear. Last time auto gearbox r jerky and less reliable.
U thinking of street racing? By all means try race with those Supercar on normal street c how fast u can be? u think rich ass wanna race with a 1L car? Everyone know each car have their own limit, it is the driver who can push to their limit. If u r comparing a pro and a less skill driver, it's off topic. And if u r camparing a 5L to a 1L car it's also off topic. TS is asking about a auto and manual car.Originally posted by alleggerita:You think by shifting gears fast means will travel faster?
What if a farking pro and experienced driver is driving a Kia Picanto manual and another weak driver is driving a Ferrari F430, can the farking pro driver win the sh!tty driver in the F430? Obviously not..power also very important..![]()
It's you who never made your point clear..if you had stated earlier you are comparing cars of similar specifications, but only that their gearbox is different, then I wouldn't have stated my example..Originally posted by T.Ryousuke:U thinking of street racing?
