  There's no point. Your overall consumption of oil doesnt change. U just stopped for that day and switched it to 25 or 23rd...
  
  And prices in other countries aint quite our problem to begin with. Dun expect people in Bangladesh to pay Singapore rates. Our economic strength is different.
  
  Its also due to their own domestic demand and supply anyway. Booming developing economies always have energy shortage.
  
  And if it really made an overall loss for companies, U just screwed a few more companies and the price will just go up more.
  More retrenchment too.
  And u just damaged economies.
  
  Look at Europe. All they do is boycott and go on strike. Moving like turtles on land.

  I mean, company measure sales figure by month-end...so you dun pump tomorrow, you will need to pump when it finally dries. You are just delaying pumping. So...?? It's inelastic dd wat...Bo bian.
  
  Wish to do damage? Park your car at home and take public transport for A MONTH la! That will send some form of a signal....maybe....

  everybody will then pump on 23th and not on 24th so in the end the amount of petrols used is still the same and therefore the amount of petrol bought is still the same in the end...

  I would think that an effort for such a cause is still after all a commendable effort. I'm actually wondering why people say it won't work? I say if everyone is to stop saying that, there might be a difference. Slight as it may be, there will still be a difference. Those who don't care, so be it, life goes on as per normal. But hey! There will be some amount of people who would actually pledged as such. Accumulative, I'm sure there will still be a difference. That is if the mail spread fast and as widely as possible. Small harmless ripples, when accumulated, could become a tsunami! So don't disregard such efforts so easily aight?

  Good cause, but like most others here I don't think it'll work for purely economic reasons. Very curious about the effects if as many people have pledged to as you have said, will look out for stories after 24th, maybe you'll change my skeptical mind

  so in short, actually is a very small number.. so sad lor.. and as u can see nobody in THIS forum will be supporting..
  
  so i don't expect anithing to happen tmrw. regardless, it would be nice if the whole singapore could do this tgther for like one day.. then every petrol station you drive past would be EMPTY like ghost town. then u go in at 11.59pm and the pump attendents there might be "AH! FIRST CUSTOMER OF THE DAY!"
  
  that would be SO COOL. of cos the station manager would have panicked halfway through the day wondering what happened lol..
  
  anyhow.. i think the only way for it to work is for sgporeans to boycott ONE company onli for like one month.. so we still get our petrol.. but one of them is gonna suffer huge losses.. best is to stop pumping at exxonmobil.. the most number of outlets one..
