    • Achieving both power gain and fuel saving on your existing car?

Anyone believe that this is possible, how to achieve it?

Anyone believe that at the current technology, this is still not possible, not such thing, nothing is for free, give your opinion...

    • all along power and fuel savings are mutually exclusive things....

unless.... ur engine is super inefficient to start off with...

but most engines are already optimized either for performance or low fuel consumption...

    • mass production cannot produce super inefficient car because of huge tolerance for manufactureability.

lmost 99% of cars in the market are produced in mass.

so 99% of cars are not operating at its optimum.

his means there are still room for improvement.

so, achieving additional power gain and fuel saving on existing car still possible.

      see, still possible.

    • i heard that allowing more oxygen into your explosion chamber will give more umph.

      nox your car bah.

      air-intake?

lighten the weight?  use carbon fibre instead of metal roof and bonnet.

    • some of the definite approach is lighten the car weight, remove unnecessary loads and seats behind, change the fly-wheel to a lighter one, replace a more efficient engine, etc.

    • This is wat my mechanic told me: ' U want power, dun think of fuel saving. U want good FC, dun think of power'. tats all.

    • so far... i think lightening the car is the best way to gain power and achieve better fuel consumption..

however, i think weight is not cheap

      light weight forged rims.. $3k-$4k

carbon fibre hood, roof, boot, fenders = $6k-$10k.

adding a Low Pressure Turbo (LPT) with a programmable ECU to tune the AF ratio, boost blah blah.

spark plugs, ignition cables, fuel hose, air intake.. for better combustion.

all these mods will give ur car quite alot of additional power.. but we human abuse it and pedal to the metal driving occurs.. thus never save fuel.. haha..

    • why sometimes heard mechanic say these:

      1.   not enough air?

      2.   fuel too lean

      3.   and yet, some - air too much???

      4.    yet heard mechanic also say balance air & fuel?

      who is right?

what is right and what is wrong.

      does engine needs balancing?
