Yea Sports Mode for transmission is kinda rare,maybe manufactorers prefer to opt for Tiptronic...

I seldom see saloon cars with the additional Sports mode. My stand is that you either make cars specific towards comfort and drivability and cost-effectiveness or specific towards max performance. Like normal Lancer vs Lancer Evo etc.

Okay. To make this clear, Quattroporte first started selling with only an automated manual gearbox and a manual gearbox. I think Maserati calls their automated manual gearboxes Cambiacorsa (maybe wrong spelling?). I think it uses the same gearbox system as Ferraris - The sequential gearbox. It uses some software in the ECU to change gear I think. Somewhat the same as Triptroic. Just different names I guess.

Some of the cars don't have 'sport' mode.. Like some Alphard MPV.

He doesn't drive that fast though.. Rare hard acceleration, when we're using a more sporty car.. Etc..

Well, the cars that I have driven and used the + and - (if I recall correctly), got Mazda 3, Mitsubishi Colt Plus, Mitsubishi Galant and Lexus IS250

And of course,there's paddle shifts which is found in most European cars and is now increasingly common on Japanese's too.(i.e new Mazda 6 and Lancer EX GT).

So u dont have to upshift at the gearstick but instead toggle at the steering wheel paddle shifters to have a F1 feel

No need say reduce speed first then downshift. Just release accelerator then can downshift already. If the gearbox is good enough, it might even blip the throttle for you.
