As we know that Singapore Petrol rate is increasing over the year and causing some stress to fellow drivers when comes to fuel tank is getting empty.
So many Singaporean intend to drive over to JB over weekend to top up petrol. And as we all know, 3/4 tank is a rules and regulations for those who intend to drive in Malaysia set by ICA.
Yesterday night, 11May08 around 10plus, my friend as usual drove in to JB to send his friend back home, was caught in the causeway jam. The ICA inspector was conducting a throughout check on every singapore car. Last time, people always say slight less than 3/4 tank is fine as they will close one eye... but according to my friend, when he drive in was 3/4 tank but while caught in jam, tank fuel falls slightly below 3/4 tank was being fine $100 (new fine amount) and not $50.
Just to warn all fellow friends here, if anyone or your friends going into JB, make sure your fuel tank is more than 3/4 full. else $100 will be the fine amount for 1st timer... 2nd time offender if i didn't hear wrongly from my friend was $500.

Its been a long time that 3/4 tanks full is required for driver driving into JB, i think is to protect the petrol kiosk in the northen part of sg.
Anyway, fellow friends spread this news around to warn others. My friend was caught and waited for 4hrs (11pm til 3am) for his passport to U-turn back to sg, pump his petrol in sg til more than 3/4 full then send his friend into JB again.
Anyone else encounter or heard similar incident from friends, pls help to verify? Thanks.
