I'm a car addict. and my dad is going to buy a car for track use and daily use.
So i wanna know what you guys buy.....
Mydad wants a japanese make, quite old about 1982 to 2002 region. Must be cheap, engine or no engine.
Coz he wants to swap engine........zzz
is ur dad freaking serious??!!!!?!?
or is he joking with you..
firstly... a car for track use will nv be good for daily use and vice versa...
secondly... swapping engine in sg is illegal...
What's the point of buying a car for track use in SG
So why not buy the car with the engine that he wants in the first place?

Not utterly impossible for a car to be good on both the track and on the road. Just need to fix adjustable dampers to the car where you can tune the compression and rebound rates.
Problem is it's super troublesome and you need to be an expert. ![]()

Can. Drive up north to Sepang. ![]()
I think you dad must be kidding.
If he is serious, I dun think he will let you drive it if he has done it up nicely.
Bcoz as a father, I will not make my car a racing car and let my children drive it and risk their lives racing.
sounds like sch holiday talk.....

Nissan? GT-R lor..
GT-R only from parallel importers now, so there's a certain degree of risk. Tan Chong has yet to officially bring in the Nissan GT-R yet.

Since TS's dad wants to reinvent the wheel, then most probably the R32/33/34 (since they more or less fall into the 82-02 timeline) and TS's dad can swap the RB26DETT for the VR38DETT if it makes him happier and if he can use it for "street and track" use, lol.

Ahhh, double wishbone front and rear. Kinda rare now on Jap cars. Or even conti cars at that. Now most front suspension system is just a simple MacPherson strut.
But the civic is much of a front-wheel drive i heard? My dad might go for grip and power settings.

and how does front wheel drive affect grip and power??
and what kinda settings?? sounds like something out of maximum tune... LOL

Do you know you can actually carry more speed into a corner in a FWD car than in a RWD car? You need to employ the slow-in-fast-out tactic in a RWD car to prevent oversteer, but for FWD, just chuck the car into the corner and accelerate. If it understeers, just release the accelerator.
So in theory, a FWD car is faster than a RWD car in a corner.
