It is possible if you manage to get very early slots(Like me) I just passed my BTT yesterday and managed to book my FT on the 27th which is 3 days from now and have only just bought my book today =)

from my knowldge, only school students can book Practical test online. For private, have to wait....
The thing about private is that I can book the instructor any time i want...
I retook my BTT twice. My FTT only once, and I passed...

First time taking both, I'm only on my first month and 1 day(31days exactly) and I'm taking my FT on the 34th day. TP probably in 1 1/2 month's time, don't want it too early because I havent started taking lessons yet.
P.S. I'm a private student too, I think you can book your TP online.
