how you guys think of the porsche boxster s? isit a good buy for its given spec and performance wise? given a chance would u get one? thinking of changing car and just asking for OPINION.

U buying for looks or performance? If looks the Mercedes SLK is better off. If performance then the Porsche Boxster S. As for detailed comparison, go to sgcarmart.com and compare etc. I'm not so good in that area and neither am i performance crazy

well, in my humble opinion, that will depend on how much you like the brand, and if you think the car portrays your personality. But both Porsche and Merc are great cars... Personally I choose and prefer Porsche above Merc, as it has a more 'artas" and having a "young professional" feel to it rather than a slk, which to me seem a more feminine car

I have one before.... good grip and handling on the road. The drive feels good and the sensitivity on the steering is a class of its own. Compare to the SLK, the SLK is smoother and the drive is distinctive Mercedes - lots of comfort but no feel of the road handling/ground and power. You would probably not feel the difference if you were driving the C class and the SLK. For me, a sportscar needs to have the feel of the raw power when you need it and the porsche boxster S with 310 BHP provides this adequately.
Most of the comparison for the boxster is always been with the Audi TT. For me, both cars are equally good but at the end of the day, a Porsche is a Porsche. The logo at the front of the bonnet tells all. Moreover, if the car is from Stuttgart Auto, you get to join the exclusive Porsche Club and to improve your driving skills, there is always the Porsche Driving School in Mount Cotton Australia.

If i were you i will ask this question in Porsche singapore forum. The seat level is lower than RX8 and cannot see the front very clearly (as with most low sports cars) so you might have to adjust to this for the first week or so....(turning might hit kerb if not used to it)
Boxster S is not overly powerful but stability might decrease in wet weather as I previously drove Rx8 and back drifted a couple of times when filter left due to torquey rear wheel drive.
For the same price i would rather get a 2nd hand Lotus Exige which is renowed for its stability and handling when pushed hard...
But you never know until you try driving one!
