i think creative is not very good. i bought one of their mp3
players in the past and within one year, it didn't work. the same
thing happened for my brother and my friend. the earphones get
screwed easily too. But then again, so does the ipod ones...

i reckon you should buy neither apple nor creative products. go
for less well known brands from japan or HK.

just your luck, my creative mp3 player dropped countless times
and still works fine! it outlived my friends ipods/mp4 players.
purchased in Jul 2006 <img src=

i also kena F by apple big time. i bought a 60gb ipod about 3
years back for a lot of money from the apple e-store and
after about 2 years of use, it just gave up on me. went to the
service centre, and after 5 mins of testing, the technician just
told me as-a-matter-of-factly that the hd has gone bad and nothing
can be done. i have close to 50gb of music there and my heart just
sank!

now, i get by with a creative zen stone plus (2gb) and a ipod
shuffle which singtel gave me. i am swayed by the ipod touch but my
experience with my first ipod is a BIG deterrence. it is infact
being placed within viewing distance of where i do my work at home
so i am constantly reminded about paying a lot of money for
something so unreliable.

that's why I like to buy electronic products using external
batteries instead of its in-built batteries coz once the batteries
spoils, then the whole electronic gadget deems unfit to use
