    • My CPU makes continuous beeping noises when i switch it on. Screen is blank and nothing happens. CPU still running just with beeping noise.

However, When i put the CPU horizontally on the floor to the left, and i switch it on, it works!

Sometimes when its horizontally, it still produces noises but i just have to put it horizontally to the other side. eg. right of cpu is on the floor.

I tried to solve the problem by sending it to the shop last year dec. they said graphic card problem so i bought a new one. the problem just surfaced recently..

      its very on-off kind.

is anyone able to help me? very very VERY curious to know whts the problem!!! experts, admins help!!!! Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

    • depends on your motherboard.. the beeping sound is continous long beeps or short beeps with long beeps?

if its continuous long beeps, it may be that your ram is loose.. i just threw away a p4 motherboard cause the 3 ram slots were too loose.. the ram seated in cant even be detected if i shake it abit.

The beeps are long and continuous. Same beeps are the time. =(. i doubt everything's loose cause i tried to tighten it last time already. nothing to tighten. Confused

CPU running with beeping noise - just keep on beeping non stop? Or just after a number of beeps then it stop? Count the number of beats and post back. If it's continuous, post back also. Also read up your motherboard's manual to find out what BIOS it's using.

Hmm... can you provide your motherboard BIOS manufacturer?

There are a few out there, but the most famous ones are Award, Phoenix and AMI.

When i left computer on, it just keeps beeping non stop. Note that there is nothing on the screen. Continous beeps, each of equal length. draggy too. Then i pressed the off button once and this is what the screen said:

      Award BootBlock BIOS v1.0

      BIOS Rom check sum error

      detecting floppy drive A media

Insert system disk and press enter...

Insert system disk and press enter...

how much is a new hardisk?

i opened and tightened the stuff.. but what does the ram look like?

why does it state floppy A and is that processor thing the name of my motherboard?

    • you're using IDE or sata. Check if the cables behind it is attached firmly. Make sure the wires does not have any damage(torn, snapped, ect.).
      For hard price(new ones)
      40GB ~70
      80GB ~75
      120GB ~80
      160GB ~85
      180 ~95

If your hard disk makes some ticking sound, or you put it to your ear and you hear that your harddisk is trying to spin but then slowed down back, confirm harddisk is spoilt
