coz from what i read, 802.11g abd 802.11b basically only differs in range? i am looking at nokia N80 which is 802.11g only.. but my router is in 802.11b only... i was wondering if the both of them can work together. thanks
Yes. 802.11G is backwards compatible with 802.11B. But not sure if the reverse is true... because 802.11B is the slower version of 802.11G and is released earlier than 802.11G.
You can hook up a device that is on 802.11g to a backward device of 802.11a/b…
No A please... A is totally different and is not compatible with B or G. If you get a router that works with A only... then you better go back and get another one.
It reminds me Is it possible for b/g to upgrade to accept a also?

No. 802.11A operates on a different frequency, which is why B/G has never worked with A.
