How to Add a Name to the Taskbar in Windows Vista

Click on the Windows “Start” button, found in the lower left hand of the screen. This will open a list of items, one of them being “Control Panel.” Click on “Control Panel” to open it in a window.
Click on “Clock, Language, and Region” and then “Regional and Language Options” if you are in the regular view in “Control Panel.” If you are in the Classic view in “Control Panel,” click on “Regional and Language Options.”
Both of these methods will open the “Regional and Language Options” window. Now, click the “Customize this format” button, which will open the corresponding window.
Click the “Time” tab and delete the information that is located in both the AM symbol and PM symbol boxes.
Type in the name or word you would like to be displayed instead, such as your name, and then click “OK” twice to save and close

A recovery disc for Vista.

Actually, this was built into the beta of Vista SP1. For some reason, MS removed it in the RC release and the final release.

Had I known, I would have tested the beta and created a nice disc. Now I need to download.

gpedit.msc is only available in Vista Business, Enterprise and Ultimate.

Your Home premium version does not have it.

The memory problem is a known issue that was detected in Vista sp1.

found a way to disable the automatic memory diagnostic test which starts everytime ur comp boots up.

- Open command prompt as Admistrator: by typing in start ''cmd'' right click the .exe file and then clicking on adminstrator.

- Then typing in the console: ''bcdedit /bootsequence {memdiag} /remove'' press enter, after that you can restart your com. and it wont start

need to use the run tool to take 'ownership' of the windows file, then u can replace the file.

need use resource hacker to edit the dll file, then bring it into the system32(dun have 64 bit, so i dunno) folder, sometimes will have BSOD, but even after replacing the original windows file, there will be no pic @ the back when startup and shutdown
