    • Hi Mayi and others.

      (1) when i click on IE to open it, keep having a message that says IE enoucounters problem/error, have to be closed.

      So cannot open IE.

Need to try 4, 5 times. Then can open.

      (2) Sometimes in IE surfing, same message appears and IE closes by itself.

      Question:-
      How to rectify this problem?

      Don't tell me to:-
      a) reformat
      b) change to FF

      Thanks mayi and others.

    • The usual question - any toolbars installed?

      If so, uninstall all toolbars.

Then report back if it works.

If you want the toolbar again, then Google for it again.

    • An update.

noopi, are you using Norton or McAfee?

      http://www.infoworld.com/article/07/12/19/Microsoft-offers-workaround-for-IE-security-patch-problems_1.html

Some problems have been reported with users who have Norton or McAfee and a particular Windows Update.

      1. Start > Control Panel and double click on Add/Remove Programs.

      2. Tick the Show Updates box at the top right hand corner.

      3. Find this Update - Security Update for Windows XP (KB942615)

      4. Click once to select it. Click on Remove to uninstall it. Restart your computer.

      5. Uninstall your Norton or McAfee. Restart your computer.

      6. Go to Windows Update again and update your computer. After that, restart your computer.

      7. Reinstall your Norton or McAfee and restart your computer.

    • I also have this problem, probably after I update my comp with the newest security. But I only have Symantec installed. Why is that so? Confused

Very laggy. On Vista, it's OK. But the toolbars fly everywhere in IE7. Headache to find them.
