    • Hi all,i got a problem with my internet. When i double click on internet explorer, the page cannot be displayed, means that i don have internet but the problem is my router is doing fine and when i double click on firefox i can surf the net

when i diagnose the problem, this is what it says " Windows has detected that this computer is part of a domain,If you are currently connectted to a home or private network, click next to continue "

Than after that it says " Windows cannot connect to the internet using HTTP,HTTPS,or FTP.This is probably caused by firewall settings on this computer.Check the firewall settings for the HTTP port(80),HTTPS port(443) and FTP port (21)."

I already config my firewall to allow the port to pass through but the same thing still happen

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated ^^

    • i think he means whether you have configured the router to log in to your ISP properly, i.e. the internet settings of your router.... connection type, the parameters, login name and password, etc...

You might also want to try turning off your firewall to see if your firewall is causing the problem.

was your router working before this? Or did you just set up a new router?

    • there's nothing wrong at the hardware end (router) since he can use FF to surf the net

have you entered dns / proxy setting?

or try disabling the firewall as someone else mentioned

    • oh, I thought he diagnosed the problem in FF

if only IE, then quite likely due to firewall...

try turning off both the firewall and virusscan for a moment. From what I know, mcafee enterprise also has a firewall

    • Singapore Poly student?

Anyway, what brand is your router?U can try factory-resetting your router to see if it works with factory settings.

For Linksys, press the Cisco Button...and for other brand try looking for the reset button.Make sure its not soft reset one ah,which will merely restart iticon_lol.gif

they probably messed up some files/config... if u dun wan them to spend days to diagnose then best is to rebuild everything since the advise given here to open up ur ports already tried...
