A korean made Lcd tv will generally have brighter colours and vibrant colors(lg and samsung), while the Jap make has a more natural color. If you go to Best or any electronic store, go compare. The Red colour of the Samsung, LG televisions will look more orange.
Plasmas were once blamed and shyed away from due to the "shadow" effect it imprints on the screen if an image is shown for too long. (when u pause a show for 4 hours) then after that play u can see the shadow. Now, there isn such a case anymore. Technology has improved.
The lifespan of the Lcd or plasma tv depends on your usage, how you mantain the tv. Nowadays a plasma can last as long as an Lcd.
Plasmas are generally cheaper than their Lcd counter parts.
For $1400 you might buy a 32 inch lcd, but for that $1400, you can get a plasma, though Plasmas consume more electricity than a Lcd.
