    • i know it sounds weird, but i noticed just yesterday that my PC will auto switch on itself after i turn on the main power (Not the power on/off of the PC). and when it loads to windows, the time/date settings will be wrong. what is wrong?? could it be the BIOS setting? i doubt so cause i don't remember go there or mingling with it. Please HELP!!

    • The button sized battery (also used on calculators and watches) on your motherboard could have fallen off or run out of power. Without that battery, the settings (including the date and time) would have resetted to the default settings, unless you turn it off but did not turn off the main switch.

You need to open the casing to change the battery.

    • Your mobo battery is either

      1) dead

      2) came loose and is not connected properly

      this explains the time prob.

Does the time/date change after every restart?

      Steps to change motherboard battery

the battery will look like this. Fully pictured and detailed Steps will be here. (reading page one would be enough). Read page 2 / 3 if you cannot find your battery to be replaced.

note: if your computer is still under warranty, you can send it down to the nearest service centre to be replaced.

this requires you to open your casing of your computer. Thus it might void your warranty if you open it up.

    • Remove your CPU casing and take a look. Don't buy too big or too small; some motherboards don't accept.
