    • Just wanna to know ...

My Filipino friend wanted to buy a lap-top for his 6 year-old son ....

He wanted a really budget ones , he doesn't mind a AMD processor cos he heard AMD processor real low price in Spore , in Filipine would cost them a bomb .

How much is the lowest u guys know about ?

I told him $699 can buy a Prestigio one .

Is there anything lower price than that u know of ?

or anything which is slightly more expensive , like $800 for a better brand ?

      Any suggestion ?

    • He wants to buy it in Philippines or SG?

If in Philippines, I can't help. I'm not sure of the market there.

    • Since it's for a 6 year old kid,

You could go for the Asus EEE 900 with the windows xp option: damage <$800 ( an upgraded version of the original eee with better specs and quality and performance

Though, do try to tell him, that he could get a somewhat "good" Pc for $800.

I do not think a small kid @ 6 years old will properly utilise a high end spec laptop.

    • Geez,

6 yr old kid with a laptop.  For starters, It is wise for him to look for a 2nd hand EEEpc running on winXP.

    • Maybe he can take a look at Dell Vostro 1000. Buy online at $949. Can choose to get Windows XP instead of Vista, which is a plus point for budget laptops as budget laptops usually do not have good hardwares to run Vista smoothly.

not likely he want to spend so much ....u know , Filipinos not really rich , $1000 for them is alot of money .

      $700 for them = about Pesos 22000 .

For a decent family of four , can eat 2 months .... I am not joking .

      A indoor salesperson in Filipines , earns about $100 a month , good one maximum $300 .
