My LCD screen got burnt out. A "pop" sound and the screen completely blacked out without any response.
I'm wondering if it is possible for the LCD screen to be repaired..
And does afking with the computer screen off while allowing the computer to run cause the screen to wear out at the same rate as leaving the screen and CPU on together?
I frequently leave my computer on with the screen off when I'm downloading stuff..
Any opinions on this?

most probably getting a new one, now using the old school square square fat fat kind of screen...

maybe is slightly over a year of so, possibly 1 1/2...so..no warranty :(
no burning smell..
Should be 2 years warranty right?
I got mine recently 1+1.
Maybe you should follow what kenneth said, check the fuse in the plug to see if it's burnt.

I am using philips LCD wide screen monitor and it's still work pretty well.
For your case, it might be striked by lightning. Such cases do happen many.
Please do the following.
Check your system unit got power or not.. if yes, check your lcd monitor and power cord (if lightning, the power cord will have a burning smell).. if the system unit can't work, this can be a serious problem. your power supply might be faulty and cause other hardware to be faulty too...

holy shit dudes, i switched the power cable to an old one and viola! it works!

btw, im using the cable with 250v/13A, whereas the old one wad 250v/16A, will it affect anything?
anyone can think of a reason why my cable poped?
it was definitely not raining yesterday night..
could it be due to overusage?
