i've installed norton internet security 2008, and after
installation, my cabal (a mmorpg game) does not run as smoothly due
to lag/game closing like when u click the X button of ur internet
explorer/computer auto restart (happens even without norton)

cabal uses x-trap as a anti hacking programme...

i wonder what can be done ..:(

What os you using? win xp or vista... try to uncheck the
restart

Go to yr control panel, system, advanced, start up and recovery,
uncheck the automatically restart...

yes. if u changed a cable and it works, it must be the fuse in
the plug of ur old cable.

anyone can think of a reason why my cable poped?

could it be due to overusage?

power surge from ur power socket. you take the cable, unscrew
the plug head, there is a electrical fuse. see if the wire inside
got burn out or not if yea,. go to any hradware store, buy the
one according to the same amperage, and replace the blowned one. it
should be ok

I guess i am right.... anyway, as long as is 250v. it shouldn't be
a problem.... another possibility is the power cord is getting
burned out due to overusage. As old saying, humans need to rest so
do the machine...

I am using philips LCD wide screen monitor and it's still
work pretty well.

For your case, it might be striked by lightning. Such cases do
happen many.

Please do the following.

Check your system unit got power or not.. if yes, check your lcd
monitor and power cord (if lightning, the power cord will have a
burning smell).. if the system unit can't work, this can be a
serious problem. your power supply might be faulty and cause other
hardware to be faulty too...

not sure lo...

most probably getting a new one, now using the old school square
square fat fat kind of screen...

maybe is slightly over a year of so, possibly 1 1/2...so..no
warranty :(

no burning smell..

Should be 2 years warranty right?

I got mine recently 1+1.

Maybe you should follow what kenneth said, check the fuse in the
plug to see if it's burnt.
