    • Recently, i've just bought a laptop from my school. Microsoft Office is already installed into my lappie. However, when i wanna use my microsoft word, it will oways prompt me to enter my Product Key. Previously, i could just click on cancel and the Product Key prompting is gone and i can use microsoft word. However, a few days ago, i couldn't do anything using microsoft word anymore. i can still open files on microsoft word, but it just doesn't allow me to edit the page. even using a new page, i oso can't do anything. near the bottom of the page, it oways says ' This modification is not allowed because the selection is locked.' I couldn't find any microsoft office disk inside the accessory box either. guess it's already been installed so doesn't need any disc? anyone hu has encountered tis problem, or any1 hu has any solution, dun mind can teach me how to solve tis problem pls?

appreciate it lots. thx in advance !

simplest way is to take screenshots of ur problem and go back to ur school vendor for help..dont U think so?smile.png

sometimes...manufacturers sort of put the recovery CD (with all the given programs)into a hidden partition...so no recovery CD will be given...eg...IBM thinkpads' F11.

    • The office software is pre installed in the laptop.

It is a trial software that allows you to cancel and run office for 30times before it will be locked. This means you will have to enter a product key in order to access the features.

There should be a "Microsoft Office 60-day trial icon " on your desktop. search for it and click it.

Follow the steps there to activate it.

    • Save your $12.80.

As Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise has already been pre-activated before shipping, you do not have to activate the product after installing it on your PC.

Therefore,i recommend you download and install a pirated version as you dont have to face the Product Activation Window and basically own a fully licensed product.

You can download the program via BT in http://btjunkie.org/.

For your reference,i have already done the search list for you but i do recommend this one as it is tested safe.

PS:The file is an .iso file,u need to burn it to the CD via a specialised ISO burner program and NOT Windows CD Burner.I think the built-in Roxio program in OEM PCs can suffice for this task.

PS2:dont worry about using it in School, they dont really bother ;)

      Online tools? What is that?

Basically,as long as you dont have to download anything from Microsoft's website everything's ok.Like the Save as PDF or XPS function, the OGA tool detected my fake office icon_lol.gif But i managed to find an alternative download site @ Softpedia.

you can purchase the key via microsoft online. (credit card needed)

      or

      buy from your school (cheaper)

You can't edit/create anymore but you are still able to read files.
