external disk drive problem

      using external disk drive. when i put some game disc in like sims2, cod2..all can be installed. but when i click on the icon, the comp restarts itself. but when i put cd, vcd i can run. why ah

      U are suspose to run programn or anything from external disk drive.. Sooner or later the external disk will die .. Its for storage..

      Huh? It's a little too brief.

      1. What do you mean by external disk drive? External CD/DVD drive? External hard disk?

      2. What icon did you double click? Game icon? My Computer?

      if u installed the game, shouldnt u use the game's shortcut exe in ur lappie to run?

      ya it restarts without warning. it auto restarts...last time i use external to play game can leh...then now suddenly cnt. fyi i sent my comp for repairs b4 tt..so is there any settings to do??

      is not hard disk...is external disk drive.

      yes install everything is ok. but when i click on game icon to run, the comp simply restarts itself. i tried for 3 diff games. all same thing happen

      this is strange.

      tried installing in your computer's own hdd and see if it works.

      ok i got a new clue. i dun think its related to the external disk drive. because when i dl online game, i also tried to run it but the comp restarts by itself. and whenever i click on games icon, the yellow light of the disk drive from my cpu flashes b4 it restarts...even though i am using external disk drive. is there settings which i shld change??
