Hi all! 1 question for those experienced at email clients.

      http://liveunplugged.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!F92775FC46A390CA!171.entry

I have followed the instructions clearly.(in the link above)

But thunderbird keep saying connection timed out.

      anyone know why?

I have ZoneAlarm Firewall but i tried off-ing it before.

      But still didnt work.

      Any ideas?

    • Is your Hotmail account even qualified for POP3 access?

      Accounts Qualifying:
MSN Legacy Pop3(msn.com) - Dialup or Bring Your Own ISP(as of 1997)
      Windows Live HotMail Plus(msn.com, hotmail.com, live.com) - effective Sept 21, 2007

If you really wish to access your inbox via POP3 without forking a single cent, get a Gmail account which allows POP3 access. The main reason why Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail disables POP3 access for free users is to force them to view their mails via their advertisement-filled web e-mail client in order to earn back the cost involved. Maybe Google has too much money to spare, I guess.

    • If you are not qualified for POP3 access and you are using Thunderbird, you can go here http://webmail.mozdev.org/ and follow the instructions. I am currently using the extensions to download my Yahoo and Hotmail.
