keyboard died! pls help

      hi, i'm pressing frantically on the on-screen keyboard now - my acer usb keyboard suddenly stop functioning this morning. its model is 6511-HA. all the buttons are non-functional except for the volume dial.

       

      last nite it was working fine and i even installed an IM software called QQ. wonder if it's trojans. scanned the com this morn and only found 2 instances of a troj_bagle.ao

       

      checked the drivers & found that it's blank. as in, no keyboard drivers installed. the acer drivers i found are also useless. even tried unplugging and switching usb ports but no use.

       

      please help! =S

      qx179r: yes, but it didn't help. re-plugged the keyboard, but there's no response too. only once was there a popup balloon saying sth about device not recognized -_-

      is your keyboard newly bought or have been using it for a very very long time..icon_question.gif

      most likely its time to get urself a new keyboard liao..

      Please try a PS/2 keyboard.

      PS/2 keyboard have a round head connector and is green in colour.

      i've been using it for years b4 it suddenly malfunctioned. i suspect it's a software/virus/driver issue instead of hardware. cos just now i reboot & went into the optionsthing (b4 windows started) and the keyboard works fine!

       

      ndmmxiaomayi: sry what u mean? if it's whthr i've tried to dl those removers, yes i have, at trend micro website, but no luck...

      icic, haha recently no... this morn even worse  - at the dos startup screen alrdy say keyboard not detected...
