    • if a basic PC is what u need, 239 will suffice for all the parts, and a casing. u even get a nvidia MX440 which is nth to scream about but at least it doesent eat ram.

C2D, but which in the whole family?

just a question here. i wanna get a new custom made PC, but i have some stuff currently, which is a Samsung 40GB IDE HDD and a 3 1/2 inch floppy drive(IDE) which can still be used. i want to get the following:

      Intel C2D E8190 (2.66GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB)
      Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L motherboard
      Seagate 250GB SATA HDD
      Kingston 2 x 1GB RAM (DDR2 800MHz)
      512MB NVIDIA 8800GT Graphics Card
      DVD-RW burner (preferably with LightScribe)
      Medium Tower Casing
      Genuine Windows XP Professional

i nid to get all these installed, together with the current IDE drives that i have, and set the current HDD as my primary boot drive, and as my current copy of Windows is suspected as counterfeit by Microsoft, i need to reinstall a copy of Windows as well using a CD that I am going to buy. may i know how much will all these cost and where will be the cheapest place to get all these done? Thanks in advance!

hmm, wad brand of motherboard did he replace with?

wad is the make and model of the graphic card? i dont see any graphic card here, it is an integrated graphics! not a seperated graphic card!

wad is the procesoor? core 2 duo? dual core? celeron? pentium4?

graphics card wise, yes, you seemed to have got scammed.  (it's integrated graphics. that means graphics is shared btwn applications. and it's fixed into your mother board)

      what's your motherboard model btw?

Ram doesnt cost much, <$50 for 1gb. unless your ram is an overclocked ram, or those ddr3 rams.

U can go to simlim square to get all this done, the price for xp shuold be around the same.

At simlim u need to be careful of which shop u chose to visit, recomanded ones will be fuwell, bell. If you are visiting bell systems, u can llook for dave. www.bellsystems.com.sg go to their website and click the pricing on top, u can see the price list that is updated every 1-2 days

For ur rig i will say that u can upgrade to a quadcore, maybe a 9400 or 9550, they are 45nm, if u want, u can get the entry level Q6600, which is 65nm

WHen buying the burner, u need to specify that u need lightscribe, if not they will jsut throw in normal ones

GRaphic card wise u might want to consider something better, like the 9800gtx, the 9800gx2 is still @ 899. if u wan u can get he 4870, but they are quite hot

Pillow, look above, Intel's integrated mobo.

      - Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family.

He did not change the processor. He just stated, he changed, mobo, ram and gpu.

      oh...hahaha

yes, he is being scammed for the graphic card. A graphic card should be a seperated piece of hardware.

how do i find out what my motherboard is?

u can use the program cpu-z to find out, the progrm is free, no installation required

      www.cpuid.com

it is near to the bottom of the page. it is cpu-z, not other hwmonitor or other names

There are many factors, virus add ons, or maybe just the operating system problem, i usually just reformat. u can do that if you ahve the CD and have place to backup your harddisk drive

It's good if they are all brand new parts, mb, ram, cpu.

Alternatively, you can ask the computer "jin tian guai bu guai ah?", if the computer did not reply, it means the computer is very good today. angel.png
