    • Hi guys, my rig has kinda a small issue with detecting 4 channels. I'm using MSI's P45 Platinum mobo, which comes with Realtek HD Audio (driver version 5.10.0.5567, ALC888 audio codec).

Somehow, my computer is only able to utilise the rear speakers under the 2 channel settings. When I try using the 4 channel settings, the rear speakers do not work. Any idea on how to make the rear 2 speakers work on 4CH?

    • are they connectted in the first place? and what model is your altec? there are lots of 4.1 altecs u know, state model first.

speculation could mean its a select 641,atp5, etc etc. state model.

    • And yes, they are all connected. The Rear speakers can only emit sound when I choose the 2CH settings, but when under 4CH, it doesn't respond.

    • 2ch is that the speakers take the front signals and multiply it to the rear. so in this case, highly suspented your rear spkr input or the rear spr outpit from the card is spoilt.

    • ok then it means the wire ur using to connect the mobo to the speaker is broken, or the speaker's rear in is broken.
