    • The scale of a map is 1:20 000.

      Given that the perimeter of the nature reserve on this map is 15 cm, what would be the perimeter (in cm) of the same nature reserve on another map with a scale of 1:35 000?

      Juz need some confirmation of the answer.

      Answer given is 6 cm but my answer is 8.57 cm (3 sig fig).

    • 1m=100cm
      10m=1,000cm
      100m=10,000cm
      1km=100,000cm
      10km=1,000,000

      1cm:20000cm

      20000cm = 200m

      Perimetre of the nature park
      So it's 15 x 200m = 3000m/3km

      The answer = 300,000/ 35000 = 8.57cm

    • True perimeter of the nature reserve = 15*20000 = 300000cm

      Since it's length, the scale is directly proportional.

      Perimeter on the other map = 300000 / 35000 = 8.57142cm
