Is school holidays a time for students to spend their time doing homework and going for CCA or a time for students to take a break and re-charge before the start of a new school term?
It strikes me hard when I see the whole list of CCA activities coming up and loads of homework for just a week of school holidays. I thought that School holidays are time for students to catch up with school work at their own pace and to pursuit their interest?
So what's school holiday for? =X

The system is always abused and not ideal as one may fantasize. FYI, school teachers *always* have it much worse, than students, in all aspects of the system including (non-existent) holidays. You (students) may be surprised that the common groans heard from students, including this one (about having non-existent 'holidays'), are even more commonly heard from, experiened by, and suffered by school teachers.

What UltimaOnline said is true.
School teachers also have to plan for lessons after the holidays as well as attend courses. This is excluding going for CCAs that they are in charge of.
The only 'rest' they get from school holidays is not having the stress to face 40 unruly students in class. Other than that, school teachers do not even have proper vacation leaves... unless normal office workers

for a pri sch student... holiday = play( my p6 bro is playing in the next room and he can go w/o meals n sleep if he is allowed)
for a sec sch student... we r not as lucky... we hv lots of activities and holis allows a more flexiable time... tt's why we have lots of cca during holis cos this is the time when we do nt have a lot of lessons= more time for cca... also for students to catch up(according to teachers), but then what i thought was tt holi is nt for us to catch up.. those hardworking ones.. will remian studying(no life)....
but then.... if a teacher gives you a remedial class... appericiates it... cos a 2hr remedial requires up to put in 2hr to learn something but takes a teacher 4hrs... to plan for lesson, then do/find notes for his students, photocopy notes, n conduct the 2hr remedial...
same goes for cca... most of us... our seniors planned it... n every cca session has objectives behind it... it takes many hours to plan for the cca so as to fulfill the objectives while as much as possible, fun...
rather than complaining abt holis, why not think abt the effort that has been put in, apperciates it n enjoy it...
