      Alan have 240 Singaporean and Austrailan Stamps.After he sold half of his Singapore stamps,and bought 12 australian stamps,he had as many Singaporean stamps as Australian stamps.How much Australian stamps does he have at first?

      if he didn't sell half his Singapore Stamps, but bought 12 Australian Stamps instead, he will have 240 + 12 = 252 stamps

      The ratio of Singapore Stamps to Australian Stamps will also be 2:1 since after selling half his Singapore Stamps, he will have as many Singapore Stamps as Australian Stamps.

      so number of Australian stamps he has at first = 252/3 - 12 = 72
