Religion on IC = Taoism
but personally, i believe in most religions, i frequent chinese temples more than others.
(no offense to any religion, just my opinion)
IMO, Jesus is not god, so are others deities from other religion, they are human in their past lives who has done good for mankind and rewarded a "position" for their merits, whereby they will be spared off the pain of going into reincarnation cycle. There is a creator who is also the judgement for our merits/sins to determine where we will go after we pass on.
It is just that in our current world, nirvana/enlightenment is more than just going to pray on a regular basis. Cultivation of the mind, cleansing your soul with moralities taught by the teachings passed down by these "forefathers" to be able to suppress the evil in yourself.

Good luck in your recruitment.

Thanks for posting here even though u are not a Christian. Feel free to post any queries if u have any in mind. Even though we have different beliefs, I believe we can have matured discussion.
Thanks again.Edited by laoda99 29 Oct `07, 10:12PM

IC says Buddhism, leans towards Buddhism, but too lazy to do anything about religion

Not that I dont believe in God, Jesus or the Bible, but I believe that there are too many things for us to worry than proving or disproving existence of God, and I dont mean material wants, but needs of the poor, the victims of dictatorship, preys of crimes etc
Basically thats my stance

"Heresy to the heretic, and religion to the orthodox,
But the dust of the rose-petal belongs to the heart of the perfume seller."

Abit like what I just posted, why do christians seek for eternal afterlife? Why do christians seems to regard their afterlife more important than now(this is my personal opinion)? Why is that non christians go to hell?
I just want to know more about religions, not here to prove christianity is wrong

1. Why do Christians seek for eternal afterlife?
I do not think it is exclusive for Christians in seeking for eternal afterlife. I think it is a human thing, not just for Christians. It is a "human need". What is ur take on this?
2. Why Christians regard afterlife more important than now?
Our life here on earth is only temporal. Very soon we will pass on. If afterlife is eternal, isn't this more important than NOW, which is temporal?
3. Why is that non-Christians go to hell?
I remembered when I was in sec 2 one of my classmate keep asking me, a buddhist, to go to hell if I am not a Christian. I was truely offended by it. But coming back to the question, the bible says only Jesus has authority to judge and that he will know all those who has been given to him. We also know that those who has Jesus has life, and that no one go to the father except thru Jesus. Of coz, this is our beliefs, and I think the thing that is wrong here sometimes in the evangelical approach: how we reach out to non-christians.

Freethinker here.According to my limited knowledge, i know that there will be 6 different channels of reincarnation, one to be in the beast catergory, one in the devil category, one is the demi-gods catergory, and a few others, maybe u can check with others in the other related forum, as i do not wanna hijack this thread. My apologies.
Imagine have to die again, if your life is happy, will you prefer to be immortal together with a few others who are also in this mode? Think abt it.
