French defender Patrice Evra has ensured he will receive a hostile reception when Manchester United travel to Hull City, if Bernard Mendy’s recollection is anything to go by.
Mendy signed for the Humberside club this week from Paris Saint-Germain to embark on his second stint in the Premier League, having spent the 2002-03 season on loan at Bolton Wanderers.
The 26-year-old’s experience at the Reebok leaves him somewhat familiar with the North West, whence he will journey to face the Red Devils with his newly promoted Tigers.
But Evra, in what could be interpreted as a cheeky dig, claimed to be completely ignorant of the whereabouts of his compatriot and one-time Les Bleus colleague’s new surrounds.
Mendy said in The Sun: “When I told him I was coming to Hull, he said ‘Where is Hull’?”
