    • Spurs chairman Daniel Levy created controversy this week when he lashed out at Ferguson’s supposed tapping-up of Berbatov, labelling the Scot’s actions as “disgraceful”.

Levy, who also lambasted Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez for his designs on Robbie Keane, claimed both of the North West giants had publicly and covertly announced their intentions to sign Spurs’ strike duo, without the north London club’s permission.

But Sir Alex has dismissed quotes attributed to him in The Sun regarding Berbatov, in which he supposedly outlined his plans to capture the Bulgarian forward.

It was that tabloid story which prompted Levy's outburst, and Ferguson warned that it will be “very embarrassing” for the Lilywhites if they pursue the matter any further.

Furthermore, the United boss revealed in News of the World that the Red Devils could take Spurs to court: “I have not read the full article but I have been given the gist of it by our Press officer. I am sure our legal people will be looking at it.”

the difference is MU made a bid, and SAF has remarked that some of the words in the press are not from him, misquoted.

Real did not even made a bid, but said they got offer, contract and ask the player to strike.
