    • United in £50m dash to wrap up summer targets Micah, Alves and Fabiano

Micah Richards , Luis Fabiano & Dani Alves.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be lining up a £50million triple raid to strengthen his Double-winning side. The Scot wants to complete his summer spending within the next fortnight with Manchester City defender Micah Richards, and Sevilla duo Luis Fabiano and Dani Alves top of his wanted list, according to the Daily Mirror.

Brazil striker Luis Fabiano, 27, scored an impressive 34 goals in 44 games for the Spanish side last season. And his compatriot Dani Alves, a dead-ball specialist, is on many clubs' wish list after impressing with his raiding runs from right-back.

The pair would cost about £30m, while £20m would be needed to prise England defender Richards from Eastlands. Striker Louis Saha and defenders Mikael Silvestre and Gerard Pique are set to leave Old Trafford.

    • If he buys,he will buy EITHER Alves or Michah to replace G.Neville.

      No point buying both.

    • I agree that it is highly possible that all these names are merely smoke screens.

But which department do ManU really need to strengthen??

Goalie: Generally dependent 1st choice in van der saar, who has been consistent throughout his United career, except for a few 'slip ups' at the CL final on the slippery pitch in moscow. 2nd choice kusiak dependent when called upon. Verdict: No need to buy

Defence: Central pair Ferdinand-Vidic strong and unmovable (brown and o'shea capable covers), on right side brown will give neville a good run of his money, no natural cover on the left side for evra except o'shea. Verdict: Left back as cover

Midfield: Amazing feat for SAF to give reasonably regular playing time to all four central midfielders scholes, hargreaves, carrick and andersen during 07/08 season. Plus Fletcher also available, no need to buy central mid. Also have 5 capable wingers (waiting on the wings.. duh): ronaldo, giggs, nani, park, and fletcher. Verdict: No need to buy

Forward: Rooney and Tevez, both more suited in a supporting forward role. Saha is leaving, so they better get a central forward to replace him. Huntelaar might be a good choice, but doesn't mean it works everytime when 'going dutch'....

Manager: Three more good years to come, according to the man himself...

    • sorry it is richard dunne!! my mistake.

he is a good defender. if he is in a good team, i bet he is valuable addition.

how i hope arsenal can sign him.

too bad, his age is not what arsenal are looking for.
